Participants seek to demand several concessions, including compensation for weather-related property damage. The event may draw hundreds of participants.

Authorities will likely tighten security at and near the chief minister's residence. Road closures are possible. Clashes between activists and police cannot be ruled out. Demonstrators may march along or block roadways, prompting localized business and transport disruptions.

The rally site is approximately 72 km (45 miles) south of Ludhiana.
