Informational

Event

Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) has reportedly blocked access to several government offices in its buildings in Port Moresby as of Oct. 6 amid a dispute over rental arrears. While the government previously negotiated a deal to recover the outstanding balance, NSL claims the government did not sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreeing on the payment schedule. The closures are affecting the Internal Revenue Commission and the finance and national planning departments. NSL claims it will continue to enforce the closures until the MOU is signed.

Government and public service disruptions are likely in affected departments.

Advice

Plan for disruptions at affected departments; confirm appointments.
