Unionized airline pilots in Kenya end nationwide strike; will return to work by 06:00 Nov. 9.

Warning

Event

Pilots employed by Kenya Airways (KQ) and represented by the Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) have ended their nationwide strike and will resume work by 06:00 Nov. 9. The move comes after the Employment and Labour Relations Court issued a ruling ordering the striking pilots to cease their labor action and return to their jobs.

Some residual flight disruptions may occur for several hours after the pilots return to work, particularly at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), as the carrier repositions aircraft and works through any passenger backlogs.

Advice

Contact travel provider to confirm specific flight schedules if booked to fly on KQ into the afternoon of Nov. 9.
