Train disruptions are affecting routes passing through Rajahmundry/Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh State as of the morning of Nov. 9. Service interruptions are due to a freight train derailment in Balajipet, near the Rajahmundry Railway Station. There are no reports of casualties due to the incident. However, passenger and freight train services are facing cancellations and delays; affected routes include those serving Guntur, Kakinada, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, as well as Lingampalli in Telangana State. Officials have not clarified when services will normalize.

Heightened security and localized traffic disruptions are likely to continue near the derailment site until clearance operations end.

The incident site is approximately 49 km (30 miles) west of Kakinada.
