Afghanistan: Explosions, gunfire reported in Panjsad Family and Khair Khana areas of Kabul Nov. 12

At least four explosions have reportedly occurred in the Panjsad Family and Khair Khana areas on the northern outskirts of Kabul as of late Nov. 12. Preliminary information indicates the blasts were followed by gunfire; the Taliban have as yet released no official statement regarding the incidents. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.

Heightened security, as well as transport and business disruptions, are likely in the impact areas over the coming hours. Further similar incidents are possible over the coming days.
