Officials announced water supply outages for parts of Seberang Perai in Penang Dec. 2-4. The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) attributed the planned disruptions to maintainence works at a water treatment plant. The affected areas include Seberang Perai Utara, Tengah and Selatan. More than 197,000 customers will experience water outages or low water pressure. Delays in service resumption are possible.

Authorities will likely provide water tankers during outages. Some business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.
