A police investigation into the death of a Chinese national in Wallerfield is ongoing as of Dec. 13. The victim was driving her car when occupants of another vehicle shot at her vehicle multiple times, causing an accident. The victim died of her wounds, while her companion was hospitalized. The motive for the attack is not currently known.

Wallerfield is approximately 32 km (20 miles) east of Port of Spain.
