Event

Protesters are blocking roads in several areas of Port-au-Prince Jan. 26 to denounce insecurity and violence against the police in recent days. Demonstrators have been using large vehicles to cut off traffic and burning debris to block roads in Carrefour Aeroport (Delmas area), Nazon, Champs-de-Mars, and in the vicinity of Marche Salomon and Sylvio Cator Stadium. Demonstrators have also impeded traffic flow along Route Nationale 2 in Carrefour, which connects the capital to the southern parts of the country. Several schools have closed for the day due to unrest.

Protest activity may also block roads leading to Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP). Other likely gathering points include Place de la Constitution and areas in front of government buildings. Clashes and violence are possible.
