Activists plan to protest outside the Military Court of Appeal in Tunis from 09:00 Feb. 3 to demand the release of opposition politician Seifeddine Makhlouf. The Court Jan. 20 sentenced Makhlouf to 14 months in prison for insulting a public official during a protest in March 2021. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the Military Court of Appeal the morning of Feb. 3. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
