The crash, which reportedly occurred at a train crossing in the vicinity of Barwon Terrace, killed the driver of the truck; the train was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash, and the train's conductor was not injured. As a result of the collision, coach buses are replacing Geelong Line trains between the Waurn Ponds and Geelong stations. Authorities did not immediately indicate when normal train services would resume.
