Tonga: Authorities lift COVID-19 vaccination requirements for foreign travelers April 3 /update 23

The Tongan government has lifted COVID-19 vaccination requirements for foreign travelers entering the kingdom April 3. Authorities previously required inbound foreign passengers 12 years old and above to provide proof of vaccination before travel. Officials have ended all COVID-19 border restrictions.

Domestic Restrictions
Authorities earlier ended curbs such as a state of emergency and nationwide curfew, as well as mandates on facemask use and social distancing. However, officials encourage residents to take such precautions, and businesses can enact their own facemask and distancing requirements.

Officials require people that test positive for COVID-19 to self-quarantine for five days; authorities could extend the quarantine period by three days for people still experiencing symptoms. Individuals exiting quarantine must wear facemasks in public for five days after entering the community.
