Gabon: Several airlines removed from EU blacklist December 9

On Monday, December 9, the European Commission removed all Gabonese airlines - including, the Nationale Régionale Transport, Solenta Aviation Gabon, Tropical Air Gabon, and Afrijet Business Service - from the Union's blacklist following improvements to their air safety management. They are now legally able to offer flights to and from the EU moving forward.

Context

The European Union (EU) Air Safety List defines airlines that do not meet international safety standards and are therefore banned from operating in EU airspace. Gabonese airlines were blacklisted since 2008.
