The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.4-magnitude earthquake 88km (54.6mi) south southeast of Sovetskaya Gavan (Khabarovski Krai) at approximately 08:54 (local time) on Tuesday, December 1. According to the USGS, the quake struck at a depth of 587 km (364.7 mi). There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties. Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
