Hannover Airport (HAJ) resumes normal operations on December 29 after a temporary closure due to a vehicle on the runway; residual flight disruptions possible

Hannover Airport (HAJ) reopened around 21:00 (local time) on Saturday, December 29, following a temporary closure due to a security breach earlier in the day. According to local police, a vehicle crashed through a security barrier and drove onto the runway around 15:40, prompting a closure of the runways and part of Terminal A. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Incoming flights were diverted to regional airports and several flights were delayed. Residual flights disruptions may persist for the coming hours.
