Warning

Event

Authorities will close Florence Airport (FLR) in Italy from Feb. 1-March 20 in order to resurface the airport's only runway. Airlines scheduled to operate flights to FLR during the closure will either cancel flights or reroute them to other airports. The closest commercial airports to Florence are Pisa International Airport (PSA) and Bologna Airport (BLQ).

The airport closure will prompt service and travel disruptions through the construction period. Lingering disruptions are possible even after the airport reopens March 20.

Advice

Confirm all flights to and from FLR through late March. Contact airlines for details on flights. Consider alternate modes of transportation to and from Florence from Feb. 1 - March 20.
