Anti-government demonstration ongoing in Minsk on November 15; avoid all demonstrations as a precaution



An anti-government demonstration is currently ongoing in Minsk on Sunday, November 15. The demonstration is taking place in the form of a march. Participants gathered at Pushkinskaya metro station at approximately 12:00 (local time) before marching towards the Square of Changes.

Additional related demonstrations are expected throughout central areas of the country and are expected to be very well attended. Security forces have been permitted to use heavy-handed measures. Disruption to communication networks during the demonstrations is possible.

Emerging reports state that at least 30 people have been arrested so far.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstration.
