Unconfirmed reports of explosive devices planted in public buildings prompted the evacuation of 50,000 children and 3500 teachers in Khabarovsk on Monday, January 13. Further evacuations were reported in schools, universities, and museums in Vladivostok, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Ussuriysk, Birobidzhan, and Blagoveshchensk. Evacuations had been previously reported in the region in December due to similar bomb threats.
