Libya: Pro-LNA forces carry out raids in Ubari November 28

Pro-LNA forces carry out raids and make arrests in Ubari (Fezzan region) on November 28; further security operations to be expected over the near term

Pro-Libyan National Army (LNA) forces reportedly raided locations in the southern city of Ubari (Wadi al Hayaa district; Fezzan region) on Saturday, November 28, and allegedly detained several persons. There have been unconfirmed reports that a woman was killed and a child injured during the security operations that centered on the Al-Sharib area of the city. The exact nature of the raids was not immediately clear.

Further security operations are to be expected in the region over the near term.

Those in the aforementioned area are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate further associated security operations, and heed any directives issued by local authorities.

The security environment in Libya remains complex. Although travel is possible in some areas (with appropriate security protocols in place), other areas should be considered strictly off-limits. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to travel.
