Event

King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa has announced on Wednesday, November 11, that a week of mourning will occur following the death of Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa in the US where he was undergoing medical treatment. Authorities also stated that government work will be suspended for a period of three days. Al-Khalifa's body will be repatriated to Bahrain, after which there will be a funeral with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions in place.

Although gatherings in Bahrain are currently limited to five people due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there remains the potential for larger commemorative gatherings or protests in the developments following Al-Khalifa's death.
