Storm Sabine, named Ciara in the UK and Netherlands, has forced the cancelations of around 150 flights (13 percent of all flights) to and from Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Germany's busiest airport, on Sunday, February 9. Another 130 flights have been canceled at FRA on Monday, February 10 (10 percent of all flights). Also, Deutsche Bahn has reported train disruptions in the north of Germany, noting that long-distance trains have been suspended in the region.
Lingering flight disruptions (i.e. delays and cancelations) are to be expected at FRA and other German airports over the coming hours.
Individuals traveling via FRA are advised to monitor local weather forecasts, confirm flight reservations, prepare for lingering flight disruptions (i.e. delays and cancelations), and contact their airline for more information.
