Israeli soldier shot near Dolev (West Bank) amid rising tensions February 6; expect heightened security presence

An Israeli soldier was shot and wounded in a drive-by attack near Dolev in the West Bank on Thursday, February 6, amid rising tensions in the country and territories. The soldier was injured during an attack on a military post, after which the shooter was killed. The attack comes hours after a shooting on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

A heightened security presence is to be expected throughout Israel, though especially in Jerusalem and in the West Bank.

Individuals in the West Bank are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid the area of the incident, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.

Some Western governments advise their citizens against all travel to the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and areas near the Israeli-Lebanese, Israeli-Syrian, and Israeli-Egyptian borders.
