At least 10 people were wounded in a shooting in New Orleans (Louisiana state) on December 1; investigation ongoing



An unidentified assailant shot and injured 10 people in New Orleans (Louisiana state) at around 03:21 (local time) on Sunday, December 1. The incident took place on Canal Street in the French Quarter. Local police officials confirmed at 06:30 that an individual had been detained near the scene of the incident, however their complicity remains under investigation. They also said that no individual has yet been arrested in conjunction with the shooting as of 12:30 on Sunday, and that the investigation is ongoing. 

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the affected area over the coming hours.
