The French meteorological agency (Météo France) has issued orange alerts - second highest on a four point scale - for five departments in the Rhone-Alps region of France (east) for Thursday, May 11. The alerts will come into effect at 16:00 (local time) in Ain, Isère, Rhône, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie departments, where strong winds and thunderstorms are forecast. Localized power outages and transport disruptions (air, rail, road) may occur. Weather conditions are expected to return to normal by 20:00 on Thursday.
