Medellín cable cars closed in June and July for repairs; expect travel disruptions

On Wednesday, June 14, the Medellín Metro announced that the Medellín cable cars will be closed for repairs in June and July. Line K (Santo Domingo) will be closed June 17 – June 27, Line J (San Javier) will be closed June 30 – July 9, and Line L (Cable Arvi) will be closed July 10 – July 13. The yearly repairs will include changing the hydraulic stress motors to ensure the system operates properly during an evacuation, as well as checking all safety and control systems.
