Air France airline forbids the use of Bluetooth headphones on all flights beginning June 6

The French national airline Air France has banned the use of Bluetooth devices on all flights beginning on Tuesday, June 6. This measure, due to concerns regarding battery safety, also concerns flights on Air France subsidiaries Hop! and Transavia as well as partner airline KLM.

Passengers are still permitted to transport these devices in both carry-on and checked luggage, but they must be switched off.

Context

Several incidents of Bluetooth device batteries catching fire have been reported, leading airlines to implement the ban.

Similar measures have been taken by Air Canada for long-haul flights.
