Qatar: New e-visa system available
Travelers to Qatar can now apply and pay for an electronic visa online
Event
The Qatar Ministry of the Interior, Qatar Airways, and the Qatar Tourism Authority have launched a new e-visa platform in partnership with VFS Global, an international government and diplomatic services specialist. Nationals from 218 countries and territories traveling to Qatar can now apply online to obtain a visa at the cost of USD 42, payable by credit card.
The average e-visa processing time is reportedly 48 hours. Once the application is accepted, the applicant will receive the e-visa by email. The e-visa service is more costly than the visa on arrival service, which is approved for nationals of 74 countries and territories (including France, the US, and the UK) for stays of up to one month, but may save time at the airport.
