Omani authorities launch a new tourist e-visa platform July 26, applicable for 67 nationalities and GCC residents

Omani officials launched a new e-visa platform on Wednesday, July 26. The first iteration of the platform will provide tourist visas for people from 67 different countries, in addition to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents employed in 116 defined professions. The move is expected to simplify the visa process and facilitate tourism. Oman hosted 3 million tourists in 2016, and is expected to see 4 million by 2020.
