Denmark: Country on high alert amid Al-Qa’ida threat

Denmark has been placed on high alert following a renewed threat from the Al-Qa'ida terrorist group. The organization published an article in its magazine, Inspire, encouraging readers to commit acts of terror by derailing trains. Danish railway company Banedanmark and national intelligence agency PET have implemented increased security measures in train stations across Denmark. As such, associated train delays are possible in the coming weeks.  

Context

Terrorism has become a major public concern across Europe. On August 17, two cars deliberately crashed into pedestrians in Barcelona and Cambrils (Spain), killing 14 people and injuring over a 100. This was the latest attack in Europe following incidents in Paris, Istanbul, Madrid, and London.
