Although the main events are planned on August 1 and 10 to mark the opening and the closing of the festival, related celebrations will also take place in the intervening days and associated transportation disruptions should be expected.
Context
Santo Domingo is the patron saint of Managua, and is celebrated each year in early August.
Advice
Individuals should expect road closures and traffic disruption near all parade routes, and should beware of the heightened risk of property crime associated with festival periods (pickpocketing, purse-snatching, etc.).
