Sweden: Rail disruptions expected throughout the day September 6

Train delays and cancelations to be expected on intercity and regional trains as well as some commuter trains September 6

Major rail disruptions, including delays and cancelations, are expected throughout the day on Wednesday, September 6, after a signaling control station caught fire between Stockholm and Uppsala. All rail traffic was temporarily suspended between the Upplands Väsby, Arlanda and Märsta stations. As a result, major delays were reported amid morning rush hour on some commuter trains and well as regional and intercity trains between Stockholm Central Station, Märsta, Stockholm Arlanda International Airport (ARN) and Uppsala.

According to the Swedish rail transport company, the railway has reopened as of 08:15 (local time). However, further delays and cancelations are to be expected throughout the day on regional and intercity trains as well as commuter trains.
