Macedonia: Rail operations suspended nationwide Dec. 12

Train service was almost completely suspended throughout the country on Tuesday, December 12, after workers launched an indefinite strike. Employees of the state-owned Macedonian Railways Transport said that the strike will continue until their wages have been paid. According to media reports, the government said they will meet with the workers, but only after service returns to normal. Expect significant transportation disruptions in the coming days.
