Nazi group holds unauthorized rally in Stockholm on December 2; one police officer suffered minor injuries after being hit in the head

The Nordic Resistance Movement (NMR), a far-right Nazi organization, held an unauthorized demonstration in Stockholm on Saturday, December 2. According to media reports, around 40 NMR members initially gathered at Östermalmstorg before moving to Norrmalmstorg and finally stopping in Medborgarplatsen. Counter-demonstrators also gathered at Medborgarplatsen, causing a tense stand-off between the groups. Police officers were deployed to the area to separate the NMR members from the counter-protesters. One officer suffered minor wounds after being hit in the head by a demonstrator. Officials said that the suspect has been arrested.
Context
NMR was formed in 1997 and has held a number of rallies throughout the country in recent months. The group held several demonstrations in Gothenburg in September. Police in the city have been criticized after allowing the NMR to hold a rally in the city on September 17 without a permit.
