New York City’s Port Authority bus terminal reopens following suspected terrorist attack on December 11; continuing transportation disruptions expected

The Port Authority bus terminal in New York City reopened at around 09:45 (local time) on Monday, December 11. It had been briefly closed following an explosion that took place earlier in the morning. Transportation authorities are advising customers to confirm any travel reservations with bus carriers. Police continue to investigate the explosion, which has been classified as an attempted terrorist attack. According to police officials, a 27-year-old suspect, who was injured in the explosion, has been detained. Three other people were also reportedly injured.
