A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck some 200km (15 mi) south of Puquio in the Pacific Ocean late on Saturday, February 10. No major damage or injuries have been reported, and no tsunami warning has been issued. Aftershocks are possible.

Context
Earthquakes are not uncommon in Peru. On January 14, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake left two dead and 65 others injured, with significant infrastructural damage and disruption in the Arequipa, Ica, and Ayacucho regions.
