France: Air France strike on March 23

Air France staff set to strike March 23; significant flight delays and cancelations expected

Warning

Event

Several unions representing Air France pilots, flight attendants, and ground crew staff are planning to hold a strike on Friday, March 23. If the strike goes ahead, significant flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) are likely. As a reminder, the Air France strike would follow a general public sector strike, set for March 22, in which air traffic controllers are taking part.

Context

Ten unions representing Air France staff have called for the strike to demand salary increases after years of wage stagnation. A similar strike was held by the unions on February 22 and resulted in Air France canceling a quarter of its flights.

Advice

Travelers are advised to verify the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
