A US-Bangla Airlines passenger plane flying from Dhaka to Kathmandu came off the runway and caught fire while attempting to land at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on the morning of Monday, March 12. Casualties are feared, although there have been no official announcements as of yet. TIA has been closed until further notice.

More than 200 passengers were said to be on board. US-Bangla Airlines is a privately owned Bangladeshi airline headquartered in Dhaka.
