Protests and roadblocks to be held throughout Uruguay, including at ports and border crossings, on March 14

Protests organized by the Un Solo Uruguay (One Uruguay) movement are set to take place across Uruguay, including the capital Montevideo, on Wednesday, March 14. Demonstrators have threatened to block international border crossings and access to customs offices (including in Artigas, Chuy, Fray Bentos, Paysandú, Río Branco, and Salto), commercial ports (in Nueva Palmira, Conchillas, and Montevideo), and paper factories, as well as hold marches in city centers and at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 24. The demonstrations are expected to take place throughout the day, starting at 08:00 (local time) and going until at least 18:00, potentially longer.
As such, significant traffic disruptions are to be reported in the vicinity of all protests. Some low-intensity violence, e.g. scuffles between protesters and police, is possible.
Context
The day of protest is being held to demand the government address issues impacting the agricultural sector.
