France: Further Air France strikes in May

Air France staff set to hold further strikes on May 3, 4, 7, and 8; significant flight delays and cancelations expected

Warning

Event

Three unions representing Air France pilots are planning to hold additional strikes on May 3, 4, 7, and 8. Unless averted, the strikes are expected to cause significant flight disruptions (delays and cancelations). Flights operated by other Air France partner airlines and subsidiaries - including HOP!, KLM, and Delta - should not be affected.

Context

May's strikes are the latest in a series of industrial actions held by Air France employees in recent months. Similar strikes were also held February 22; March 23, 30; and April 3, 7, 10, 11, 17, 18, 23, and 24. They are being held to demand salary increases after years of wage stagnation.

Advice

Potentially impacted travelers are advised to verify the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
