Indefinite truck driver strike launched in six regions Tuesday, April 24; roadblocks and goods shortages likely

Truck drivers launched an indefinite strike on Tuesday, April 24. On Tuesday they blocked a number of major highways in the regions of La Libertad and Piura, including on the Pan-American Highway. Similar actions are possible in the coming hours and days in the above areas, as well as potentially in the Áncash, Lambayeque, Tumbes, and Cajamarca regions. Depending on how long the strike lasts, goods shortages are also possible.
