Singapore: Train service disruptions announced along North-South Line in May

Trains along North-South Line to continue to close earlier and open later on weekends through May

Singapore's public transit operator SMRT announced on Thursday, April 19, that seven stations on the North-South Line (NSL) will close early and open late on all weekends in May for railway maintenance. Khatib, Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Braddell, Toa Payoh, and Novena stations will close at 23:00 (local time) every Friday and Saturday and open at 08:00 every Saturday and Sunday. Between Yishun and Newton stations, Shuttle Bus Service 9 will be provided along with the express bus service, Express 16, between the NSL and the Circle Line.

Context

Operating hours have also been reduced in April 2018 on East-West Line (EWL) stations. According to the Transport Minister, schedule changes will continue through June on various parts of the network.
