Security tightened during Rally of Portugal on May 17-20; localized disruption possible
Event
The Rally of Portugal road race will be held in Norte region between Thursday, May 17, and Sunday, May 20. The race will begin at the Guimaraes Castle and end in Fafe, going through Viana do Castelo, Porto, and the Cabreira mountains. Localized disruptions are possible along the rally route during this period. To ensure the security of the event, some 2000 police officers, 500 patrol vehicles, and horse patrols have been mobilized.
