South Africa: Mosque attacked in KwaZulu-Natal May 10

A group of unidentified men attacked a Shi’a mosque in Verulam (KwaZulu-Natal province) on the afternoon (local time) of Thursday, May 10. According to local media reports, three people praying in the mosque were stabbed before the building was set on fire. At least one of the victims has reportedly died from his wounds. A manhunt is underway to find the attackers. Although the motive of the attack remains unclear, police officials are investigating the incident.
