Flight disruptions expected in much of Europe June 8 due to thunderstorms; further disruptions possible over the weekend June 9-10

Flight disruptions due to thunderstorms are expected on Friday, June 8, throughout much of Europe. Eurocontrol is warning of delays and cancelations at airports in Maastricht (Netherlands), northeastern France, southern Germany (e.g. Munich), Austria, Switzerland, northern Italy, and the Balkans (e.g. Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Montenegro). Storms are also forecast for parts of the region on Saturday, and as such further disruptions are possible into the weekend.

Ground and rail travel disruptions, flooding, and power outages are also possible.
