Public transportation workers represented by the CNV trade union are planning to hold a 72-hour strike across the country between Wednesday, June 27, and Friday, June 29. An indefinite strike by another public transit workers' union (FNV) began on Monday, June 25. This strike is a continuation of previous FNV strikes held in January and April over higher wages and better working conditions. Buses, tram, trains, and subways, are expected to be impacted. Increased road traffic congestion is possible in and around cities as commuters seek alternative means of transportation.
