New Zealand: Disruptions at Auckland Airport June 28

Operational disruptions due to security breach at Auckland Airport (AKL) June 28

Warning

Event

Flights delays and delays at security checkpoints have been reported at Auckland International Airport since the morning (local time) of Thursday, June 28, following a security breach at the airport's domestic terminal. Airport authorities were forced to re-screen passengers after one passenger went through the arrival doors instead of the departure doors.

Additionally, traffic congestion was reported on the road leading to the airport following an accident. Although the traffic is easing, airport authorities continue to advise travelers to plan for additional time to reach the airport Thursday evening.

Advice

Travelers are advised to plan accordingly and confirm the status of their flights as a precaution.
