According to the reports, perfluoro hexane sulfonic acid and perfluorooctanoic acid, which affect hormones and contain carcinogens, were found in the water at elevated levels. The Daegu Metropolitan Government, however, has stated that the tap water is safe to drink. Nonetheless, many residents have rushed to stock up on bottled water, with some supermarkets reportedly selling out.
