Senegal: Protest in Dakar on August 3 due to water shortages

As of July 25, water shortages, ongoing for more than two months, continue to affect Dakar. The Mbeubeuss and Guédiawaye areas of the city are among the most affected. Reports indicate that the shortages have worsened in the past days, with portions of Dakar being left with either no running water or unsanitary water. Civil society groups have called for a protest to be held on Friday, August 3, in the Khar Yalla area of Dakar. Similar protests are to be anticipated throughout Dakar in the coming days and weeks.
