Haiti: Security operation targeting gangs in Martissant August 31

Police are reportedly targeting suspected gang members in a security operation in the Martissant area (south of Port-au-Prince) as of the morning of Friday, August 31 (local time). Incidents of gang-on-gang violence are also ongoing in the area, according to local sources. Consequent traffic disruptions have been reported on Route Nationale 2 in the Martissant area. A continuing heightened security presence and traffic disruptions are expected in the affected area over the coming hours.
