The US Department of State re-issued its travel advisory for Mexico on Wednesday, August 22, stating that travelers should exercise increased caution, the third-highest of a four-tiered rating system. The advisory includes an update on travel to Ciudad Juarez (Chihuahua) and forbids US government employees from travel in downtown Juarez (between Calle Malecón, Calle 5 de mayo, Calle 18 de marzo, and Avenida Francisco Villa) due to an increase in daytime murders.
