Venezuela: Tsunami possible following 7.3-magnitude earthquake Aug. 21 /update 1

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck approximately 20 km (12 mi) north-northwest of Yaguaraparo (Sucre state) at 17:31 (local time) on Tuesday, August 21. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has declared that consequent tsunami waves may notably affect Saint George's (Grenada) by 18:07, Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) by 18:39, and Cumana (Venezuela) by 23:06. Buildings were reportedly evacuated in Caracas due to the shaking. Further details, including regarding potential casualties and material damages, are still emerging. Aftershocks are possible in the area in the coming hours and days.
